Integrated Elements of Physiotherapy, Exercise Physiology, and Personal Training
Traditional models of rehabilitation pass you down a chain of professionals as your condition improves. - You can be confident in having someone with expertise in all of these arenas as you progress in your journey to becoming pain-free.

Holistic, Evidence-Based Approach
There is more to a person than their injury, and we treat you that way. What are your personal goals? What are your hobbies/sport? What do you have to do for work? We will design a program that fits you, yet will effectively treat your condition. Your goals are our goals!

Longer Consultation Times
We are against the factory-style business approach to physiotherapy. You can expect at least a 1-hour initial consultation and 45-minute follow-up so you can be listened to and treated thoroughly. Occasionally, we may provide extra time and value for no extra cost!

Management
No. You can book directly online through Halaxy without a GP referral. If you have relevant scans, reports, or referral letters, bring them to your first session — they help us build a more complete picture of your injury.
The only exception is if you're booking through a GP Management Plan (Medicare) or DVA, which requires a referral from your doctor first.
Your initial consultation runs for 60+ minutes — not the standard 30-minute appointment you get elsewhere.
We spend that time understanding your injury, your training history, your goals, and your lifestyle. By the end of your first session you'll have a clear diagnosis, a full understanding of what happened and why, and a personalised plan for what comes next.
You leave with a plan, not a printout.
In most cases, yes — and we actively encourage it where safe to do so.
One of the core principles of the Ikaika Method is keeping you connected to your training throughout recovery. We'll modify your training around your injury rather than shutting everything down.
You're not resting. You're rebuilding.
Most physio clinics give you a 30-minute appointment, a generic exercise sheet, and send you on your way. We're not that.
We combine physiotherapy, strength and conditioning, and sport-specific performance into one integrated plan. One physio, one voice, one plan — built around your sport, your training style, and your goals.
We don't treat a "knee injury." We treat the MMA fighter, the BJJ athlete, or the lifter who happens to have a knee injury.
Yes. We accept all major private health funds. You'll pay at the time of your appointment and claim back through your fund. The rebate amount depends on your level of cover.
